I am deeply distressed and saddened by the news of Bob Hajinlian's passing away. Bob used to hang with Charlie Stuckey, etal, in high school as well as with others. He had a black '59 Chevrolet convertible, and used to kid me about my piggggy '58 Chevy. I still have pictures from a football game and one from an RD dance with Bob and I with our dates. No doubt Bob Schmidt took those pictures. Gordon, my brother ('59) and Harry ('59, Bob's brtother) used to play hockey on the Oradell Golf Club pond and attend NY Ranger games at the old Madison Square Garden. Bob's favorite expression in high school was, "Boy, are you in trouble!". Somehow, it got put into the "Golden Hours" under my name. Man, Bob was angry, but I didn't know they were going to do that when I filled out the questionnaire we all did way back early in the senior school year. Nothing I could do to change it, and Bob accepted my apology.
I also remember that Bob was good with electronics and gadgets, etc, I remember he found a way to have a phone in his room without it being detected by the phone company. Seems that when you have an additional bell hooked into the system, the drop in resistance on the line alerts the phone company that there is another phone. Bob simply unhooked the bell wiring, and he had a phone in his room to use. He was great with things like that. A small thing, but something I remember about the "Hadj".
When I get down to my son's, he can scan those pictures, and I'll forward them.
